16th Annual Cigar Box Guitar Festival
This family-friendly event will feature live music featuring cigar box guitars performed by local artists including songwriter Jim Parker, who will provide an introduction to songwriting as part of his performance. Musicians Pat Nickel and John Savage will perform as well as host interactive experiences where loaner cigar box guitars will be available for audience members to learn how easy it is to play a cigar box guitar. The festival will conclude with performances from John Nickel followed by Microwave Dave.

In addition to the music and interactive performances, attendees can also get an introduction to building a cigar box guitar at The Cigar Box Guitar store located in Studio 106 and tour Bill Jehle’s Original Cigar Box Museum, a traveling exhibition which will be housed during the event in an upstairs classroom at Lowe Mill.
All activities associated with the event are free. Food will be available for purchase from Lowe Mill’s various eateries, while the artists at Lowe Mill’s studios as well as festival vendors will offer their wares for sale.
Festival attendees should bring their face coverings and be prepared to follow CDC guidelines for social distancing. Music on the dock can be enjoyed by bringing lawn chairs or blankets for use in Lowe Mill’s socially-distanced circles on the lawn or from the comfort of your own vehicle by tuning in on your FM dial.
